Fall 2021 – present

MEMBER OF KAPPA KAPPA GAMMA SORORITY

Participate in service opportunities within my chapter and partake in philanthropic events held by other chapters. Engage in sisterhood activities and provide academic support to my mentee. Previous board member of the Academic Excellence Committee, so I offered study sessions and other events to help our chapter reach our academic goals.

 

Fall 2022 – Spring 2023

UF SHANDS HOSPITAL VOLUNTEER – 5 WEST TRAUMA UNIT

Improve quality of patient care for patients recovering from trauma injuries or surgeries. Support nursing staff, assist with infection control efforts, provide companionship and socialization with patients. Restock supplies and clean high touch areas. Observe the daily operations of the trauma unit and the ways in which the staff work together to treat patients.

 

Fall 2022 – present

SPECIAL EVENTS HEAD COORDINATOR OF PROJECT MAKEOVER

Renovate elementary schools in Alachua County through art, construction, and landscaping to create a more dynamic learning environment for elementary school students. Coordinated annual pickleball tournament to fundraise for Main makeover.

MED PHASE 2 DIRECTOR OF PSO (PRE-PROFESSIONAL SERVICE ORGANIZATION)

Attend general body meetings and lead pre-med phase specific meetings. Present about various pre-med topics to help other undergraduate students prepare for the medical school application process.

 

Fall 2022 – FALL 2023

KIDS COUNT TUTOR

Tutor 3rd graders one-on-one from low-income households in Gainesville. Teach spelling, reading, and writing through literacy lessons created by UF’s Literacy Institute. Help students with their homework as well.

 

Summer 2023

JOHNS HOPKINS ALL CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL PHYSICIAN SHADOWING

Shadowed a pediatric neurosurgeon, cardiothoracic surgeon, cardiologist, and more at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL. Observed a pulmonary artery replacement and a Vagus nerve stimulator implantation in the operating room and experienced inpatient rounds in the CVICU. Also, I was able to shadow in outpatient clinic.

 

Summer 2023

INTERNATIONAL OPHTHALMOLOGY INTERNSHIP

Shadowed Ophthalmologist in Bangkok, Thailand. Observed patients in clinic and cataract surgeries in the operating room. Developed a research proposal on the effect of Prostaglandin Analogs on Central Corneal Thickness of patients with Glaucoma.

 

Summer 2024 - present

NORTH FLORIDA HOSPITAL NICU PATIENT CARE TECH

Provide support for nurses and parents, make milk orders for patients, runs specimens to lab, assist with admitting and discharging, work with volunteers, in charge of visitor check in, cleaning and restocking.
